Just One – Ben – Kensington children’s photography

17Feb

Today’s ‘Just One’ preview image is from a children’s portrait shoot in Kensington, West London W11 – a great location for children’s photography. I will never tire of games of hide and seek, peek-a-boo, or anything else that involves the absolute glee on the faces of small children as you – and they – appear and disappear; catching out the other player with a quick movement and then collapsing into giggles.

We had a great time playing in Kensington on Sunday, taking advantage of the lovely weather for a trip to the park and some relaxed children’s photographs – definitely my favourite way to spend a day. Kensington Gardens was full of happy children enjoying time in the sunshine – it felt positively Spring-like!

This shot is one of my favourites from the day. Ben is hiding in the pirate ship, disappearing and then emerging laughing from one porthole or another, so pleased with himself if he had tricked us into thinking he’d look out the other one. It was hilarious and such a fun game for testing my photographic reactions – snapping the camera into perfect focus in seconds before he disappeared, only to reappear somewhere totally different. It was a great game and such a good one for capturing lovely, happy, relaxed and natural portrait photographs.

I do hope you like this shot, today’s ‘Just One’ preview from our children’s portrait photography session in Kensington, West London W11
