Crouch End Family Portrait Photographer N8 – Just One

06Apr

I’m thrilled to be sharing a recent family photograph on the blog today, taken in nearby Priory Park in Crouch End, North London. Priory Park is my local park, even closer to my Crouch End home than beautiful Alexandra Palace and it’s a lovely spot for a family photo shoot. While a small park it has a lot of variety from the excellent playground to the small wooded area, the giant puddle (or should I say paddling pool) and the beautiful Edwardian fountain – which, local fact of the day – once stood in St Paul’s Cathedral churchyard.

We had spent most of the family portrait session photographing indoors but headed out to the park towards the end of the morning as the weather brightened up and we had a brilliant time out and about. The twins loved the playground mainly building and destroying sandcastles which is always a popular activity and I was able to take lots of portraits as they enjoyed themselves running around and having fun. It’s always enjoyable to watch children play, there are so many games, and the concentration with which they approach things is a real joy to see.

This picture, today’s just one, was taken right at the end of the session. The low winter light was beautiful and we made use of a fallen log right at the edge of the playground for this family shot. I love it. The backlighting giving a soft halo to the family and the wonderful soft light provides the perfect illumination for this family shot.

I love the expressions, the boys so pleased to be allowed to stand on the log but also both still needing to be held by their parents, so grown up and yet still so little, loving the adventure but wanting their parents to keep them safe.

I love this family portrait, so happy and relaxed from our children’s photography session in lovely Crouch End in North London, N8.
