Lady at the Window – Newborn Photography in Chelsea

07Oct

This week I was lucky enough to visit Charlotte to photograph her beautiful newborn baby and fantastic older son at their home in Chelsea. I was really looking forward to the session as Charlotte had said how much she loved black and white photographs and my natural style. Also, as you know, I just love photographing newborns particularly when they have older siblings too and we get all the wonder and chaos of family life which makes for a really fun photo shoot.

We spent a wonderful morning together photographing the family and exploring Charlotte’s incredible home. It was so lovely to chat and, as so often happens, I found myself thinking how lucky I am to meet such interesting people and hear about such fascinating jobs. It’s such a privilege to be welcomed into people’s homes and hear bout their lives.

Its been so hard choosing a Just One for the blog today as we have so many fantastic pictures utilizing the incredible architecture and truly spectacular windows of Charlotte’s home but this one caught my eye and I’m thrilled to share it today.

I absolutely love using architectural features in my work and it’s always exciting when I find my clients have amazing windows but I think these might be the best I’ve seen. I love to use the light to create these soulful images, dramatic side light giving an incredibly mood both beautiful and timeless. This is the kind of image that I feel could have been taken any time since the birth of photography and is the type of scene that was probably painted long before that.

I do hope you like it, today’s Just One from my recent newborn photography session in Chelsea.
