Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

We are now back and open for business. Kate and I have had a wonderful break and we are raring to go with lots of exciting plans for 2012. We can't wait to see lots of our regular clients and to meet many new ones. I have my first shoot of the New Year on Wednesday and I can't wait. It's going to be a great year...

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

The Christmas rush is over, everything has been delivered to happy clients and we are excited at the thought of lots of beautiful albums and prints being opened on Christmas day.

Kate and I are now going to relax with a minced pie (or seven) and a glass of wine, and enjoy the festive season.

We reopen for business on Monday 9th January 2012.

In the meantime, we wish you all a very merry Christmas and a wonderful and happy New Year.

Let me leave you with my Christmas card shot for this year - a picture from my trip to the Arctic in June, I hope you enjoy it

See you in the New Year!

Helen Bartlett Photography at One Bigg Spooky Party

Posted in Miscellaneous at 12:00 on 24/10/2011

Helen Bartlett Photography took part in a fantastic event yesterday called One Bigg Spooky Party. Fulham Palace was transformed into a halloween extravaganza with cobwebs, mice, bats, balloons and pumpkins galore decorating the grounds. Over 500 witches, goblins, zombies, superheroes and ghoulish ghosts (and their parents) filled the Palace on a glorious autumn day, and were entertained by numerous children's birthday party entertainers including Sharky and George, Mad Science and our friend Anna at Snapdragon Face Painting, who had the longest queue for her amazing face-painting throughout the day.

The Celebrity Reptiles Animal Encounters also made a massive impression - we could hear the children shrieking in delight from our stand! They had enormous tarantulas and a huge python, which the children were allowed to hold in a long line extending over 12 feet long - it was quite a sight! There was also pumpkin decorating, apple-pressing and dance displays outside in the grounds.

A special mention must go to our stilt-walking friend at Bertie and Boo, who was a very big (and very tall) fan of Helen Bartlett Photography!

Kath, Tom and I had a wonderful time at the event and enjoyed meeting lots of new people, and also catching-up with clients who were visiting with their families. We showcased many examples of Helen's work as a photographer of children's birthday parties in London, and also as a family and children's photographer. Here are some photos I took during the day, and we will let you know via the blog when we're taking part in future events as it was so much fun.

Helen Bartlett Photography at One Bigg Spooky Party at Fulham Palace

Posted in Miscellaneous at 17:00 on 18/10/2011

As a London-based photographer specialising in children and families, it is always great to find new places to showcase my work, chat to clients and meet new people. We were thrilled when my friend Anna of Snapdragon, London Face Painting suggested we got involved with the One Bigg Spooky Party. I met Anna a couple of years ago at a children's party I was photographing in London and she does the best face painting I have ever seen.

The One Bigg Spooky Party will be a wonderful event - lots of the very best in children's party entertainers will be in one place and there will be loads for the kids to do. We shall be showing off some of our beautiful London-based children and family portrait photography, as well as some of our luxury children's party photography albums which are the most wonderful way to safeguard your children's memories of their parties for when they are older.

We do hope to see lots of you there. Kate and Kath will be manning the stall and will be delighted to answer all your questions. Kath can even tell you how wonderful it is to have pictures from children's parties - I have photographs of her dressed as a punk from my eighth birthday party (but I won't have that displayed on the stand, honest Kath...)

Portfolio update - children's photography in London and Cambridge

Posted in Miscellaneous at 09:00 on 14/05/2011

It's an exciting new blog post from me today, and a bit different from my regular posts in which I share my favourite pictures from recent photo shoots. Over the past couple of weeks - between portrait sessions in Cambridge, London and Suffolk - we have been preparing our spring newsletter, which will be beginning to drop through people's letterboxes over the next week or two.

To coincide with the arrival of the newsletter, we have updated the galleries on this website too. I've think that I've taken some cracking shots over the past year, and it's great to now include these pictures in the galleries to reflect my approach to children's portraiture.

We have juggled things around a bit as well. We now have a brand new Babies gallery as well as the Children, Maternity and Newborn and Families sections. It is lovely to have more space to show you some of our favourite baby images.

We do hope you like the new pictures, and continue to enjoy visiting our website.
