Yesterday was a wonderful day for me as I got to meet my new niece Emily - only a week old. It is fair to say that she is seriously cute. I had a lovely morning, playing with Myles my nephew while Emily napped and then taking a few pictures of her when she woke up at lunchtime when her other aunt, uncle and cousins arrived. Here are a few favorites
Back in 2006 Tom and I had the great pleasure of photographing Fran and James' wedding. It was a wonderful day - one of those weddings that stick with you as an all time favorite and it was great looking back through the pictures to find one to post here on the blog.
On Friday I saw Fran and James again as I visited them to photograph their son Roker. We had a great morning - inside, outside, all around the house playing with toys and singing incy wincy spider countless times - what is not to love?
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day - and one from the wedding which I couldn't resist posting. Time flies and I can't wait to see Fran and James and Roker again soon.
It is always a real treat to be commissioned to photograph friends of mine - lots of laughs and a great chance to catch up over a couple of hours of photo shoot. As usual with my headshot work there was no particular plan in terms of location, we met in central london and took a walk to see what we could find. I like to do things differently each shoot so while I may have a few ideas tucked up my sleeve I like to explore different areas depending on the light and the mood. We had a lovely time in the park and down on the southbank before evening drew in and we had to take shelter from the dark and the encroaching rain. I have so many favorites from this shoot it has been hard to choose just a few - still, I get another chance to photograph Alex later in the year as she is bridesmaid for her sisters wedding which I am photographing. I can't wait...
I knew Max was going to be a cool kid when I arrived at the house and saw the 'Where the wild things are' pictures framed on the wall - it is one of my favorite books. I wasn't disappointed, Max was an absolute pleasure to photograph, really inquisitive and with such a lovely personality. We had a wonderful time and here are a few favorites form the shoot
I spent another wonderful day with the good people at the English National Opera Baylis department. They are fantastic. The Baylis department had been working with these girls for six weeks for one afternoon a week producing their own version of Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikardo. I came along to the last rehearsal and then the performance which was watched by other classes from the school. It was fantastic fun and the girls were great and put on an amazing show with some really talented singers. They were joined by John, a professional singer who sang some of the more complex parts from the show. Here are some of my many favorites from the day
