So another year and another fantastic birthday. We had thirty five small children mostly dressed as cowboys (but one medieval knight and the odd pirate crept in). We had cowboy (read country) dancing, chase the rustler, a treasure hunt and a pinata. I really don't think parties can get better than this.
I hope you enjoy the pictures
I had an absolute blast with Ella before my holiday. It is always interesting photographing older children as I get a real insight into their lives - hopes, dreams for the future and also the day to day things; favorite subjects at school, books they enjoy, it is all so interesting and I really enjoy chatting to my subjects.
Ella was amazing - grade seven cello and still at primary school. I was privileged that she played for me while I took some photographs. Here are a few favorites from the session
I had another fantastic morning playing with a pair of delightful sisters before the holiday. It was a grey day outside and soaking wet underfoot but that meant we could indulge in one of my favorite fashion looks - the pretty dress and wellies combination. We had such a great time, and so often on my shoots ended up covered in mud!
Now I am back from holiday it is time to catch up with my pre-break blogging. This shoot, from the week before I went away was wonderful fun. Charlie and Henry were a real joy to photograph and they got on so well together, it was really lovely to see.
Here are a few favorites from our morning.
Tom and I have just got back from a weeks holiday in Yorkshire. We had a lovely time relaxing, eating amazing seafood and walking along the cliffs between the seaside villages of Staithes, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. If anyone is in the area I can highly recommend the Magpie Cafe in Whitby, particularly the hot seafood pot.
It was only on the last evening we realised that although we are both photographers and that we had an immense amount of kit with us, as we had driven directly from a shoot in Oxford last weekend, we hadn't taken a single photograph all week. So we nipped out for half an hour to take a few pictures of the beautiful village we were staying in (and a quick picture of Tom). Here are a couple of favorites. I hope you like them
