Children's photography in Cambridge

Posted in Kids at 09:44 on 29/06/2009

Huge apologies for the lack of posts over the past couple of weeks. Things have been busy and I have been away. Last week saw Tom and I having a few days away in Cley in Norfolk (I would recommend it, a tiny coastal village with a fabulous smokehouse and deli and great walks along the beach) and the week before I was down in Dorset attending a workshop with my friend Bella West who is an amazing children's photographer.

Now I am back to work and I have a huge blog backlog to get through. Let's start with Ali and her family. These pictures are from a few weeks ago now but I had to hold off blogging until after Ali's husband's birthday as they were a surprise. We had an amazing time at the woods and I was thrilled when Ali ordered a big canvas of my favorite image - I have even included a couple of shots of it at the end. It looks great.

Posted in Seminars at 07:34 on 14/06/2009

I just wanted to remind people that there are still a few places left on my Calumet seminar on Friday 26th June. The seminar will take place in the Calumet store on Drummond Street in London (just behind Euston station)

To book tickets click here

The seminar will be covering, among other subjects

*Developing a signature style

*Ways to improve your photography

*Working with available light

*Working indoors on location

*Family and sibling shots

*Working with different ages

*Equipment

*Composition

*Case studies for working in a family home and in a public park

*Marketing

and has been having rave reviews at other venues (in fact this second London date had to be added as the first date sold out so quickly).

I do hope to see lots of my readers there, here are some comments from other attendees

'I found it very inspiring'

'I thank you for an excellent seminar that you held in Manchester.I found it very informative, and you as a person very interesting and very entertaining'

'I really did enjoy the seminar at Manchester. It was very well structured and your humorous delivery got the points across in just the right way to keep everyone engaged. The photography was, as always, stunning. Delivered in a thoroughly professional manner and the music choices were great too. The last one actually brought a lump to my throat!'

'Thank you so much for the terrific seminar yesterday,it was lovely to meet the person behind those fab images'

'Just wanted to say thank you for an inspirational day on Tuesday in Belfast. Your vision is really unique.'

Beautiful baby photographs

Posted in Babies at 16:46 on 10/06/2009

It is always a pleasure to photograph a beautiful baby and so I was very pleased to meet Jemma's beautiful son for a morning of photography. We had a lovely time playing with a little break in the middle for a nap and a very fine cup of coffee. What a great way to spend a morning.

Photography with Magical Quest Drama Parties

Posted in Parties and Occasion shoots at 14:42 on 08/06/2009

Honor's birthday party is always one of my favorite days of the year. As I take pictures year after year I get to know more and more of Honor's friends and their families and so the birthday's are always a great chance to catch up with people as well as take pictures of all the children having a wonderful time.

This year Honor had party entertainment in the form of the wonderful people from Magical Quest Drama Parties Jessica the Elf and her assistant, the Guppy Fish/Jack Frost were absolutely fabulous and kept all the children completely engrossed for a couple of hours. Everyone had a marvelous time and I can highly recommend them for any parties you might be thinking of having, really wonderful entertainment.

Will

Posted in Kids at 20:04 on 05/06/2009

I spent a wonderful morning with Will playing in the sunshine and going to the park. I do love the fact that there are so many great playgrounds out there with such different things to do. We were able to play on the swings, build sandcastles and go on a train journey before creating a little shop in one of the houses and then home for a quick play with Thomas before lunch. Can mornings get better than this?
