Marisa's beautiful baby

Posted in Babies at 18:58 on 29/07/2007

The problem with being busy is that I end up with a massive 'blog backlog' so, this weeks plan, between train trips to London, Cambridge and Colchester and then back to Cambridge again is to catch up on the blog and post some more pictures from recent shoots.

I have been having such a wonderful time recently photographing such lovely families and this was no exception. The shoot was planned to provide suprise pictures for Marisa's husband's christmas present but when he worked from home that day the plan fell through. I am so glad it did as we managed to get the whole family in a set of pictures that everyone will treasure. We had a lovely time and Marisa's sister was over from South Africa to complete the group, getting to know her nephew for the first time.

Here are a few of my favorites, I hope you like them

Poppy in the Park

Posted in Kids at 08:00 on 23/07/2007

I spent a wonderful morning with Poppy last week. When I arrived at the station it was raining which didn't bode well but by the time we arrived at the park the weather had cleared to provide beautiful light. The location was wonderful and Poppy, well Poppy was an absolute gem, a real pleasure to photograph. We had a lovely time and here are a few favorite images

The Cambridge Toyshop

Posted in Commercial at 12:21 on 22/07/2007

I had begun to fear for the traditional toyshop of my youth - you know the ones? full of all sorts of random things from the latest must have toy or game to the little boxes of bouncy balls and pocket money treats. Then, while searching the streets of Cambridge for a space hopper for my nephew I came across the Cambridge Toyshop on Hobson Street (round the back of Waterstones). The Cambridge Toyshop is a fantastic place - it reminds me of my old favorite Raggaty Anne's of Blackheath where I spent so many happy saturday mornings as a child. It even has a basement stocked with wonderful things. If you haven't been and you are based in Cambridge I urge you to visit what is certainly the best toyshop in town. Anyway, after visiting and chatting to the lovely ladies that run the shop I ended up being commissioned to take some publicity pictures for the shop. Here are a few of my favorites

Gemma & Suranga's wedding

Posted in Weddings at 16:35 on 20/07/2007

I was lucky enough to get to photograph with my boyfriend Tom at Gemma and Suranga's wedding last weekend. In our happy partnership Tom, Tom's wedding site does most of the weddings and I do most of the portraits, it is always great when we get to work together. Gemma and Suranga's wedding was fantastic with the main ceremony in King's Chapel here in Cambridge and then a second poruwa ceremony in the great hall. It was wonderful and we had a great time.

Here are a few favorites from the day - you can find Tom's choice of his pictures on his blog.

Beautiful baby shoot

Posted in Babies at 18:30 on 16/07/2007

I had a great time photographing such a beautiful baby recently. We were blessed with lovely weather so got to play outside for a while but the grass was more interesting than the photographer so we came inside and did some shots on the kitchen floor before moving upstairs to Jo and Oli's room where I took my favorite image of the shoot. It isn't often that babies are so complemented by great interior design.
