Children’s and family photography in Parsons Green, London SW3

04Aug

It is always a pleasure to see Jennifer, Carlos and Stella for our regular children’s and family portrait photo shoots in Parsons Green in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, West London SW3. This shoot actually took place in April and the pictures were part of a surprise gift for Jennifer’s family, but now that the family are now safely enjoying their albums, I was keen to share the pictures on the blog too!

I’ve been lucky enough to photography Stella four times now, capturing pictures when she was six months old and nine months old, as well as Stella’s wonderful first birthday party . Stella is now eighteen months old and I was thrilled to meet up with the family for our photo shoot in Parsons Green.

Visiting families regularly and getting to know them really is the best thing about my work, and I feel so priviledged to watch and record these wonderful children growing up. Stella is such a joy and I’m so lucky to be part of her life through our photo shoots.

This latest session was such great fun. We started our morning at the family’s Parsons Green home – the houses in this area of West London are just beautiful and we really enjoyed playing with Stella’s toys and books, and also some of the incredible furniture – I wonder if the chair was designed with hide and seek in mind? I like to think so!

It was a drizzly day for our photo shoot but we decided to head outdoors anyway – soft, overcast light is wonderful for portrait photography and a damp day always means an empty playground (which from a photography point of view is a real plus). Armed with coats, ladybird mittens and, most importantly, an enormous pile of old towels, we headed out to a local playground in Fulham. We had a great time – Carlos dried the slide (which was more of an achievement than it might sound) and we enjoyed the swings and the climbing frame.

When it started to get a bit chilly, we headed for some warmth which was provided by hot chocolate, croissants and a drink at a wonderful café on the New Kings Road. Boosted by our little break, we then headed back outdoors for what was the highlight of my morning – a Victorian steam fair in Parsons Green, which was such an interesting and different location for our children’s and family portrait photographs. I was absolutely thrilled!

It was such good fun taking pictures as Stella whooped with joy on the carousel and drove her tin car around on one of the other rides. It is lovely to do something so different on a family photo shoot and I hope you will enjoy this selection of children’s and family portrait photographs from Parsons Green in Hammersmith and Fulham, West London as much as I enjoyed taking them.
