Children’s and Family Photography in Chelsea and Battersea, London SW3 and S11

Battersea and Chelsea are some of the most wonderful bits of London, beautiful houses and stunning parks make this a real favourite for children’s and family photography.  I often travel to SW3 and S11 to meet families to take their pictures and it’s always so much fun to see what the day will bring.

My style of family photography

My photographic style is primarily observational and documentary – while ensuring I take family portraits and pictures of your children together which are essential elements of any family photo shoot – I also enjoy taking a step back, letting the action unfold in front of me and photographing the children just being children.  Watching them play, laugh together, run around and sometimes wind each other up, I get an amazing insight into your lives.  This way I am able to take pictures that really reflect you as a family, pictures that show personality and mean you will love to look back on them as the years pass.

How it works

I start my sessions nice and early as children are at their best first thing and it also means that if we venture to Battersea Park or one of Chelsea’s other stunning outdoor spaces for our children and family photography session we will have the place to ourselves.  We will be able to really enjoy ourselves running around resulting in stunning pictures that show your family having fun but aren’t filled with London’s crowds.

I love to include your home in your pictures as that is the centre of your child’s world and pictures of them jumping on the bed, reading in their favourite chair or baking and making a mess in the kitchen can hold so many memories for the future.  Older children often have hobbies that they love and if your child plays a musical instrument or paints beautiful pictures then do consider including these in your photographs, we will have plenty of time and the more variety we take the more memories you and your children will have as a result.

A typical photo shoot might involve a trip to the park first thing for a run around and a play, maybe a break for a snack and a cup of coffee mid-morning and then heading back home for some indoor shots before we finish around lunchtime.  It’s such a lovely way to work as the children are doing their favourite things with their favourite people – their parents – and so everyone has a lovely time.

After the session

After the session I process your pictures and there are usually around 70 images to choose from, all in timeless black and white.  If you would like to get a really good idea of the type and variety of images produced, then do have a look at my blog – I’ve been posting regularly since 2007 so you can get an excellent feel for my style.

One of my colleagues will visit you at a time that suits you, evening and weekend appointments are available.  They will show you your pictures in the comfort of your own home.  Armed with software (and a tape measure) you can work out the best way to display your pictures and see examples of all the beautiful products we offer.  The full price list is available online for you to look at, there will be no surprises along the way.

A great experience from start to finish

The whole experience is designed to be enjoyable from our first contact via email or the phone when I’ll hear all about your family and what you enjoy doing, thorough our brilliant photo shoot and the excellent customer care as you place your order.  Delivery will be arranged on a convenient day and you will be enjoying your pictures on the wall six weeks or so after your photo shoot.

It’s a wonderful process and I’m sure you will love having your pictures taken as much as I love taking them – do take a look at the reviews if you would like to hear what others have said.  Then drop me a line and we can get your children’s and family photo shoot in the diary, I’m looking forward to visiting Battersea and Chelsea and meeting you and your family already.
