There are days when everything seems to come together – the light, the location, the games, the delightful families and the large supplies of panettone and fig rolls to be snacked upon during the shoot.
As a London-based children and family photographer, I love getting out and about around London to capture natural and relaxed family portraits. Richmond is one of my favourite locations, and Richmond Park in particular is such an amazing place – the environment is perfect for children’s photography with so much to do, so many places to explore and the wonderful, wonderful dens to play in. I was thrilled when Nina suggested that we go there for the morning, as the children like to build fairy houses.
Once at Richmond Park and suitably adorned with stray feathers and carrying numerous leaves, we set-up camp at a spectacular den as a good starting place for some family portrait photographs. We played, we explored and I took lots of photographs, taking advantage of the beautiful spring light that morning.
I’m thrilled with the pictures and do hope that you enjoy this selection of children and family portrait photographs from Richmond in South West London .
