Family Photography in Queens Wood Crouch End

Highgate and Crouch End Family Photography

On the blog today I’m thrilled to share some favourite images from a recent morning I spent at Queens Wood on the border of Highgate and Crouch End. I was photographing two of my favourite little girls who I have been lucky enough to photograph annually for the past few years.  It’s funny posting this now as, just a couple of weeks after the pictures were taken, the weather has changed so much. It felt like spring was just about in the air when we went to the woods to play and take photographs but since then the world has exploded into bloom with the trees covered in spring greenery, summer is around the corner that’s for sure.

Playing games and building dens

We had the most amazing time at the woods, exploring, playing games, building dens, and swinging a large piece of wood around on the end of a rope.  I think it was a swing for older children but for us it was a source of hours of fun (and some photographic experimentation with slower shutter speeds which I always enjoy and creates images that are a little out of the ordinary).

I love how children find fun in everything, whether they are using something for its primary purpose or not.  It’s inspiring to look at how children approach the world – that box we might worry about having to cram into the recycling, they see as a gateway to another world as it can be made into a house or a ship or a spacecraft. It’s one of the reasons I love my job so much, this daily time spent in the realms of the imagination as I play with the children I photograph.

We played some brilliant games of hide and seek and ran around having a wonderful time. I love to find different types of images as we enjoy the morning together – close-up portraits that are full of joy, as well as wider shots that show the setting, especially when it’s a setting as beautiful as Queens Wood on the Highgate and Crouch End border.

Book your family photo shoot in Crouch End or Highgate Now

I hope you will enjoy what you see today, this sneak preview from our session and a little insight into the type and variety of images I take on a photo shoot. If you would like to book a session for your family, there are still some spaces available in the summer and early Autumn although July and September are getting very full indeed. I’d love to meet you and your family and create some beautiful photographs for you that will bring back memories for you and your children as they grow up, drop me a message via the contact form and we can get your date in the diary.
