Family photography in Wimbledon
I love taking family and children portrait photographs in Wimbledon as the Common is such a great location for relaxed, natural, black and white family photographs. There are lots of fun activities for children to do during a photo shoot; from climbing trees and building dens to running around and walking the dog. They say never work with children or animals, I love working with both and Wimbledon Common is the perfect place to do so.
From my first visit to Wimbledon Common as a child I’ve been hooked even though I’ve never met the Wombles (as a child my cousin always assured me that she had). Having such wild woodland so easily accessible in London is wonderful and the stunning parkland provides a perfect location for family portraits with children of every age.
Babies enjoy looking at the foliage and being lifted high in the sky as well as crawling happily on the grass. Older children love climbing the trees and exploring the woodland, it’s also a wonderful spot for photographing teenagers as there are so many things to jump over and practice acrobatics as well as beautiful backdrops for more formal portraits.
The Common itself is private land and does require a permit for family photography but I can easily arrange that for us and it’s definitely worth the additional cost to be able to take pictures in such a stunning location.
If you are new to my website let me explain a bit about me and how I work. I’m Helen and I’ve been a professional family photographer since 2003. Since that time my business has grown, and I’m now regarded as the premier family photographer in London – in fact I’m the only family photographer in Europe to have been recognised as a pioneer in the field by Canon and appointed to their prestigious ambassador scheme. My work has been widely published internationally and, if you choose me to photograph your family, you can be sure you are in very good hands.
My business is based around repeat customers, so I make sure we always have a brilliant time and that your pictures will exceed your expectations. I do one session a day, so we have all the time we need, never rushing a shy child and allowing for breaks for snacks or naps as required.
Over the years I’ve worked with big families and small, with tiny newborns only a few days old and teenagers heading off to university. I pride myself of getting the very best out of my subjects to ensure that the pictures we take will be loved when they are self-conscious teenagers as well as when they are tiny babies and also into adulthood when looking back on childhood pictures is such a joy.
