So, a double blog post today, firstly some pictures, a lovely family photo shoot in Richmond. And secondly some information about the new seminars being held by my fabulously talented boyfriend Tom.
Tom will be giving two seminars in the next couple of months and I urge anyone who has a wedding or portrait photography business to go along. I hope to see lots of you there.
So here's the information, straight from Tom's blog:
Running a photography business on a Mac
Apple's Regent St Store, London, Monday 13 September, 19:00-21:00
Apple have invited me to speak at their flagship store on Regent St which, considering that I've been a Mac user since I was 12, is very exciting. I'll be talking about the fundamentals of setting up a wedding photography business and running it from your Mac, and there'll be plenty of time for questions if there's anything else you want to ask me about.
The seminar is free and there's no need to pre-register, but space is limited so please turn up early if you want to make sure you get a seat.
Delivering the goods: post-production for wedding & portrait photographers
Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, Monday 8 November
Digital capture has given photographers an enormous amount of creative control over their work, but this means that taking great pictures is only the first step towards delivering fantastic results. This intensive one-day course covers everything you need to polish your portrait & wedding images to a standard that will delight your clients. The course will explore:
Setting and exceeding client expectations.
Taking control of your workflow.
post-production with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
Practical portrait retouching.
Producing great black & white images from digital.
Presenting finished images to your clients.
The course is suitable for both established pros and those in the process of building a photography business. Some Photoshop experience is necessary, but a catch-up session will make sure that everyone attending the course is familiar with the tools used throughout.
Everyone attending the seminar will receive a disc containing details of the techniques demonstrated, sample files and the Photoshop Actions used during the course.
The workshop is taking place at Fitzwilliam College in Cambridge which, unlike most of the Cambridge colleges, is easy to get to by car. Lunch and refreshments are provided.
