SWPP Seminar

20Jan

Wow! What can I say? Thank you to everyone who came to my seminar on saturday night and made it such a great success.

I can't thank you all enough for your support and your kind words.

The seminar room had seating for about 100 but we packed it and even had to grab seats from another room to squeeze into any available space. Even then many hardy souls stood at the back or sat on the floor at the front. I was thrilled to see so many of you.

We had a great time and the talk went swimmingly. The slideshows were a big hit too. I talked about the importance of style, available light shooting and working with children.

We also had Wham bars! I was pleased to see it isn't just me that has fond memories of those bars of florescent pink sugar. No artificial colouring apparently!

I don't have any pictures as we didn't have a camera with us this weekend but here are just a few of the comments that people have sent to me since. Thank you all for taking the time to write.

'Although I'm already familiar with (and a big fan of) your work, I was completely blown away by your images, they are stunning. After sitting through almost 20 hours of talks over three days, I have to say your seminar was the best – hugely informative, interesting, very enjoyable and a pleasure to be in. Two hours was far too short so I will definitely be coming to listen and learn in either Nottingham or Manchester, and I can't wait.'

'I wanted to drop you a quick note to say how much I enjoyed your talk in London. Totally awesome imagery: loved it!'

'I just wanted to drop you a line to say a huge thank you for the great presentation you did at the SWPP Convention. I thought the photos were lovely, and I found the information on the way you work really interesting.'

'Congratulations Helen on last night, hope you celebrated! Inspiring, beautiful work. Move over Jane Bown I'd say…'

'Thank YOU so much Helen for your great Masterclass. Your honesty, enthusiasm and humility were wonderful. I already knew about your skill and your work and yours was one of the first masterclasses that I had pencilled in, sorry it was actually marked in pen, for attending and I'm so glad that I did.'
