Family Photo Shoot in Chiswick

Relaxed and Beautiful family photographs in Chiswick

Today on the blog I’m delighted to share a selection of images from a family photography session in Chiswick in west London. Chiswick has always been a favourite place of mine for family photography as I’ve always had such a lovely time with the families I have met there. It has such a relaxed vibe as a place as well as stunning houses and beautiful parks, the perfect combination for family photography. I was particularly excited about this session as it was with one of my favourite families who I have been lucky enough to photograph six times now, I first met the girls when they were only a few days old, and we have done annual photo shoots ever since.

At home photo shoot in Chiswick

This year was special as the family have recently moved house and I was so excited to see their new home. The girls were so thrilled to give me the tour and show me all the new rooms where they love to play. It’s such a privilege to be part of the family journey and to know that in the future they will look back at our albums from our early shoots and remember their first home through the pictures. It was also a total treat to see all the albums out on the coffee table, five, one from each year and to see how much the children enjoyed looking through them together, laughing at their baby photos and how tiny they were.

Family photos at Chiswick House

Wanting to make the most of the early morning energy and the early morning light we headed out and about first thing, jumping in the car to beautiful Chiswick House for the first bit of our photo shoot. Fuelling ourselves with croissants and coffee from the fabulous cafe we started in the playground, which was completely empty when we arrived, always a benefit of an early start.

We had a brilliant time playing before one of their sets of beloved grandparents arrived and we went off to explore the park further. It’s always been such a pleasure to have had the grandparent on these shoots over the years and I feel so lucky to have got to know the wider family – this year I got to meet the girl’s aunt for the first time too which was lovely.

We had such fun playing hide and seek (complete with a Sherlock Holmes style magnifying glass which always helps when trying to find a grandparent hidden behind a tree) and then fortified ourselves with ice cream before heading back to the house.

Grandparents add an extra element of fun

When we got home, we were greeted by the other grandmother and the aforementioned aunt which was so exciting for the girls. We played in the Garden and did some puzzles before finishing in time for lunch. We even got to play with the water sprinklers which was such fun and one of the only times we did that this summer as since this shoot the hose pipe bans have come into effect.

All in all, a fantastic day with fantastic people and I’m so thrilled with the results. I hope you enjoy seeing this selection of some of my favourite images from our family photo shoot in Chiswick.
